Ascale model of what Eastbourne’s Roman villa may have looked like will be officially unveiled by its creator George Musgrave
(aged 93 & 11/12) at the Musgrave Collection, 77 Seaside Road on Saturday 26th September at 12:00.
The villa once stood approximately where the entrance to the pier is now. The discovery of its foundations and other Roman finds in Eastbourne are detailed in George Musgrave’s latest book What Happened to Anderida? which is on sale exclusively in the Museum.
Amongst other prominent citizens of the town, the Councillor responsible for tourism, Susan Morris, and Emeritus Professor John Pick of the Royal Gala Project and the Eastbourne Cultural Strategy Group will be in attendance.
